Style: Contemporary Minimalist with Artistic Accents
Project Overview The Mivida project is a sophisticated exercise in color balance and light reflection. Situated in one of New Cairo’s most vibrant communities, this kitchen was designed to feel expansive and bright, utilizing a high-gloss aesthetic to maximize the reach of natural light. It is a space that marries the sleekness of modern cabinetry with the warm, artistic character of patterned textures, creating a functional yet deeply inviting environment.
Design in Details
The Challenge The design objective was to create a spacious-feeling kitchen within a specific architectural footprint, avoiding the monotony of a single-color scheme. The client desired a contemporary look that remained “inviting” and “homey,” necessitating a strategic mix of finishes (gloss vs. satin) and a focal point that introduced personality without cluttering the visual field or overwhelming the clean lines of the residence.
The Engineering Solution We engineered a dual-tone cabinetry system that plays with both light and texture. The upper units are finished in a High-Gloss Cream lacquer to bounce ambient light across the room, enhancing the sense of vertical space. In contrast, the base cabinets feature a muted, Satin Light Blue-Gray, providing a soft, grounded foundation that feels modern yet calm.
The centerpiece of the workspace is the polished Quartz countertops, featuring delicate gold and brown veining inspired by the rarest Calacatta marbles. To introduce a “soul” to the minimalist design, we curated a decorative backsplash using a geometric and floral tile mix in muted Mediterranean tones. The technical setup is completed with a sophisticated lighting scheme: a cluster of amber-tinted glass pendants that provide a warm, golden glow, paired with precision under-cabinet LED strips to ensure a shadow-free, high-performance prep area. Every detail, from the brushed stainless bar pulls to the textured porcelain flooring, was selected to ensure a bright, timeless, and highly durable culinary hub.
